Case-control study of intrapartum care, cerebral palsy, and perinatal death

There is an association between quality of intrapartum care and death. The findings also suggest an association between suboptimal care and cerebral palsy, but this seems to have a role in only a small proportion of all cases of cerebral palsy. The contribution of adverse antenatal factors in the origin of cerebral palsy needs further study

This booklet is designed to support people to put a communication programme into effect, in and for the water sector. Offers guidance based on the experiences of many people in many countries, and outline the steps that need to be taken to develop and implement a communication strategy. Such a strategy should be designed to support the sector goal of supplying everyone in each country in the years to come with sustainable basic water supply and sanitation. Included as an appendix is a collection of short advocacy pieces which address some of the key questions raised in and by the booklet and which can be referred to or used as a short summary. Together, these pieces set out to make the case for the creation of a communication culture in the Water and Sanitation Sector

Administered by the Centre for Disability Studies (CDS) at the University of Leeds, UK. The list (started in December 1994) is reputed to be the largest of its kind in the world with 700 members from over 20 countries. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, information and news, particularly among researchers, students and disabled people working within a social model. This is a very active list. It is a useful place to pose questions, and sometimes covers international issues
