This report is based upon a survey of 1,000 disabled people’s views and experiences of everyday issues around the UK. The findings highlight various issues including income, education, employment, health and social services, housing, transport and access to goods and services. This report provides an indicator of the impact of government policies on the lives and experiences of disabled people in the UK
This study reveals that there are major differences between the South and the North regarding issues involving persons with disabilities. It shows that the North provides devices for disabled persons and maintains high standards in disability; whereas countries in the South have weak acts of parliament, in addition to the fact that much of the South does not have social security benefits

These regional reports are the primary focus of the International Disability Rights Monitor (IDRM) project and have been compiled by local IDRM researchers. Each report focuses upon several key areas such as legal protections, education, employment, accessibility, and health and housing services for people with disabilities. The reports include a detailed report on each country and a report card that compares the progress made by countries across the region.
