This guide highlights the strategic approach on victim assistance adopted by the States Parties and assists relevant States Parties in applying it. It provides information about a broader view of victim assistance and guidance for each state party to develop a national strategic approach by offering relevant help for landmine victims through emergency first-aid care, rehabilitation services, psychological assistance and economic reintegration. It recommends that each State to complete a situation analysis to take specific, measurable, achievable, relevant steps in a set time frame to raise efficiency and promote sustainability of services

This issue focuses on the discussions at a roundtable held in India on the theme 'Mainstreaming disability in development'. The discussions focused on challenges of mainstreaming disability, overcoming the challenges (particularly around access to information, attitudes, policy and legislation, and lack of employment and education opportunities). The roundtable was organised by Healthlink Worldwide as part of DFID's Disability Knowledge and Research (DisabilityKaR) Programme. It was hosted by the Blind People's Association of India (BPA)

This report examines the inclusion of disability aspects in the African-Caribbean Pacific (ACP) country strategy papers (CSPs) of the European Commission. Out of the 70 CSPs only 19 mention disabled people. Taking a holistic approach towards disability, the CSP can still be used as a tool to include disabled people into national policies.
The paper was prepared as a guidance for the delegations and offices of the EU to include disabled people in their policies. It is also of interest for DPOs and NGOs in the ACP countries
