"In mid June 2011, at its 17th session, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a Resolution to accelerate efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women. The Resolution called for a study to be conducted on the issue of violence against women and girls and disabilities, with the report of the study to be presented to the 20th session of the Human Rights Council in 2012. WWDA's Submission to the preparation phase of the UN Analytical Study on Violence Against Women and Girls with Disabilities, provides an overview of the legislation, regulatory frameworks, policy, administrative procedures, services and support available within Australia to prevent and address violence against women and girls with disabilities. It provides detailed information under the following themes: data and statistics; legislation and policies; prevention and protection; prosecution and punishment, and recovery, rehabilitation and social integration"

"The disaster response environment in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake represented a complex healthcare challenge. This study was designed to identify challenges during the Haiti disaster response. Qualitative and quantitative study of injured patients carried out six months after the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti to review the surgical inputs of foreign medical teams...This study showed that challenges for emergency medical response during the Haiti Earthquake involved issues of accountability, professional ethics, standards- of care, unmet needs, patient agency and expected outcomes for patients in such settings"

The objective of this initiative was to identify good practices using the Making it Work methodology in inclusive agricultural skill training for persons with disabilities in Cambodia in line with CRPD Article 27 Work and Employment. The aim of the workshop was to improve understanding and knowledge of participants on issues of disability and exclusion. There was a particular focus on learning practical strategies and tools which would be put into practice to make programmes more inclusive and accessible. This report includes findings from a survey conducted in 36 countries and nine Austrian states on the implementation of the UN Convention of rights for people with disabilities. The countries are analysed against 21 social indicators and are compared using a red, amber and green traffic light system for each indicator. Good practice examples are highlighted and eight good disability policy examples are provided for inclusive involvement of people with disabilities in society

These include closed captioning and signing for the deaf, audio description and audio captions for the blind or those with visual impairments, and accessible remote control devices for the elderly and those with reduced dexterity.
