Electronic health records : a manual for developing countries

This is a reference tool for use when exploring the development and implementation of electronic health record systems. It is written for ministry of health staff at national, provincial and district levels, health record managers and administrators at primary and secondary care levels, and people who need a general overview of the topic. The preliminary steps required before an implementation plan is developed are considered, as are the issues and challenges that need to be addressed. This is followed by sections on planning for the introduction of a new system, creating policies and procedures, and developing an implementation plan and carrying it through
