Effective health risk communication about pandemic influenza for vulnerable populations

Scientific evidence on communication challenges during an influenza pandemic is reviewed. Sociocultural, economic, psychological, and health factors that can jeopardize or facilitate public health interventions that require a cooperative public are examined.
