The ojectives are to undertake, sponsor or co-ordinate the training for rehabilitation personnel; to conduct, sponsor , co-ordinate or subsidise research on biomedical engineering, surgical or medical procedures for orthopedically handicapped; to promote, distribute, subsidise the manufacture of prototype designed aid appliances; to develop models of service delivery programmes for rehabilitation; to undertake vocational training, placement and rehabilitation of the physically handicapped; to document and disseminate information on disability and rehabilitation in India and abroad; and to undertake any other action in the area of rehabilitation. The resource centre is open to the public

University with five faculties: Medical Sciences; Public Health; Business; Technology; and Agriculture. Also runs a busy 250 bed rural hospital. Aims to support and educate staff to supply appropriate services. The Resource Centre is not open to the public

This is a district general hospital, supplying first level services to a catchment population of 200 000, and second level surgical services to a population of 1 million. There is a nursing and midwifery training school, and it also acts as a training hospital for medical students, both local and abroad. The resource centre is not open to the public

FACT is an AIDS service organisation providing a very wide range of services. These include orphan care, home based care, training and support of educators, trainers and the setting up of support groups for people living with AIDS. It provides health care from its clinic and free medication to people who can not afford to pay. It is also involved in advocacy and lobbying policy makers to provide better health services to the public. The FACT clinic resource centre is open to the public

DDC to generally provide resources for, and to promote the welfare and interests of the blind and physically handicapped, and to do all such things as may be incidental or conducive to their attainment. Also work in neighbouring African countries when requested. The DDC resource centre is open to the public. The hospital contains 19 beds

Provides comprehensive health policy guidelines and strategies for effective health care delivery at all levels as well as the monitoring and evaluation of health programmes. CBoH has a resource centre that is open to the public. It has a countrywide network of hospitals and clinics.

Physicians for Human Rights - Israel is a not-for-profit organisation comprising of some 300 physicians, medical professionals and human rights activists, whose aim is to ensure equal adequate health services for all people under Israeli responsibility, irrespective of race, nationality, language, legal status, health condition, age, or any other premises. PHR - Israel works via direct intervention and advocacy to provide equal services for Palestinians, migrant workers, detainees, prisoners and female victims of domestic violence as well as working to afect general health policy in Israeli law. The PHR - Israel library is opoen to the public. They also run an open clinic for migrant workers
