International Foundation for Dermatology (IFD)

Principal aims: to inprove dermatologic care (skin care) in rural areas of developing countries; Toteach auxiliary health care workers. They have two models: a two-year university diploma & training over a few days for health care workers. They assist in the establishment of Regional Dermatological Training Centers, all purpose basic facilities which serve large rural populations. The agenda includes the management of skin diseases. STDs, HIV/AIDS, leprosy, skin wounds, burns, ulcerations and disfigurement due to skin failure. The resource centre is open to the public upon demand

It promotes the rights and needs and views of children and families. It operates within the UNCRC framework. It provides information, newsletters (5 languages) and bulletins. It conducts inter-country studies and projects on good practice,training and consultancy. It also organises seminars and conferences. Resource centre available on request.
