Mothers Welfare Group (MWG)

Mothers Welfare Group works with the community in all areas of rural development, including education, health, water and sanitation, agriculture, agroforestry and women's empowerment. It supports an integrated rural development project and an HIV/AIDS project in northern Nigeria. These projects involve the development of learning/health centres in five catchment areas, child-to-child, a water programme, health awareness outreach, sustainable agriculture emphasizing income generating activities for women, and women's empowerment. It supports 30 community schools and runs 12 health posts and three in-patient clinics. The resource centre is open for PLWAs, HIV/AIDS orphans and training for healthworkers on the prevention of the spread of HIV/AIDS
